The project consisted of the major refurbishment and renovation of an existing sawtooth warehouse and office space. The building was stripped back to its bare bones with major structural alterations undertaken before the internal finishes could commence.
The design introduced a series of intertwining uses that together to create a connected hub of activity. At the front sits a co-office space comprised of separate offices and a boardroom. Within the larger warehouse, playful pods create areas for individual work. An event space, defined by a circular carpet and light scoop, and café link these spaces to the broader community creating a dynamic and porous interface.
The building has been reimagined as a contemporary warehouse – designed to produce ideas. The project was negotiated and was based on a fixed price open book contract. It was completed in seven months on time and on budget with zero defects.
